Manfreight Supports The Rugby Ball: A Celebration of Sport, Legacy and Community
Manfreight was honoured to support The Rugby Ball, a remarkable evening hosted by Portadown Rugby Football Club (RFC), celebrating the enduring values of rugby, camaraderie, and community spirit.
The event, held at the Seagoe Hotel, brought together rugby supporters, club members, and legends of the game for an unforgettable night of storytelling, fundraising, and shared passion for the sport. Among the evening’s highlights was the presence of former British and Irish Lions Rory Best, Tom Youngs, and Geordan Murphy, who captivated guests with personal insights from their distinguished careers. Their reflections served as a powerful reminder of the values that make rugby—and the community that supports it—so special.
The night opened with a warm welcome from Portadown RFC Club President Geoff Caldwell, setting the tone for an evening rooted in tradition, pride, and ambition for the future. Guests enjoyed a superb meal served by the Seagoe Hotel, adding to the evening’s sense of celebration and hospitality.
What truly stood out, however, was the remarkable generosity shown by those in attendance. Funds raised during the event will go directly towards supporting the ongoing development of rugby at Portadown RFC, helping to enhance opportunities for players at all levels and strengthen the club’s role at the heart of the local community.
“At Manfreight, we believe in the power of local partnerships and the importance of investing in our communities. Supporting The Rugby Ball was more than an event sponsorship — it was a chance to celebrate shared values and contribute to a club that plays a vital role in the lives of so many.”
Manfreight extends its sincere appreciation to Portadown RFC for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful occasion and to everyone who supported the evening. As a proud partner of the club, Manfreight remains committed to fostering community engagement and supporting the growth of local sport across the region.
