Manfreight was delighted to welcome a number of special guests to its state-of-the-art chilled facility at Belfast Harbour, celebrating the strong partnerships, shared values, and continued collaboration that have helped shape the company’s journey.
The visit welcomed Christian Coolsaet, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland, alongside Joe Ruddy from Volvo UK, Rob Ireland and John Jenkins from Dennison Commercials, and Paul Grant from Stena Line.
The occasion provided an opportunity to showcase both the heritage and future of the Manfreight fleet - reflecting on the company’s evolution from its early beginnings to the modern, technology-driven operation it is today.
Guests were given the opportunity to view a selection of vehicles representing key milestones in Manfreight’s fleet journey, from long-serving Volvo trucks that have played an important role in the company’s history to the latest additions, including the Volvo FH500 Aero. The display also featured several special anniversary vehicles, including the FH16 750 Gold Ailsa Edition, highlighting the importance of heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation within the Manfreight fleet.
A key part of the visit was sharing the Manfreight story - from one man, one truck, and a big dream, to the multi-site logistics business operating across the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe today. Guests also toured the company’s industry-leading chilled facility and met members of the dedicated team behind Manfreight’s continued success.
Partnership remains one of Manfreight’s core values, and the company’s long-standing relationships with Volvo Trucks and Dennison Commercials have played an important role in supporting its growth and development. Built on trust, shared ambition, and a commitment to excellence, these partnerships have helped Manfreight create a modern fleet and logistics operation that continues to set new standards within the industry.
The visit also provided an opportunity to recognise Joe Ruddy, who is preparing to retire at the end of the month. Joe has been a valued friend and supporter of Manfreight for many years, and the company would like to sincerely thank him for his professionalism, commitment, and contribution to the strong relationship between Manfreight and Volvo.
On behalf of everyone at Manfreight, the company wishes Joe a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement, with every success for the future.
Manfreight extends its sincere thanks to Christian, Joe, Rob, John, Paul, and the wider teams at Volvo Trucks, Dennison Commercials, and Stena Line for taking the time to visit.
The day was a powerful reminder that behind every successful operation are strong partnerships, great people, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
