Manfreight has proudly presented a £5,000 donation to the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, following the efforts of its dedicated relay teams in this year’s Belfast City Marathon. The cheque was handed over at Manfreight’s Belfast Chilled Facility, where the team welcomed Jessica from the Hospice to mark the occasion.
The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides specialist care, comfort, and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as their families.
To put the impact into perspective, £5,000 could fund a full three-night respite stay for a child at the Hospice. This includes 24-hour expert care from their dedicated team, alongside therapies tailored to each child’s needs - such as physiotherapy in the on-site hydrotherapy pool and sensory play sessions. These experiences provide not only relief and comfort but also precious moments of joy for both the child and their loved ones.
This achievement reflects the dedication and generosity of Manfreight’s colleagues, who trained, persevered, and completed their marathon legs, supported by a wider team of organisers and cheerleaders. Every mile run was taken in the spirit of community, compassion, and teamwork.
"We are incredibly proud of our colleagues for their commitment to making a difference. The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides vital services to families who need them most, and it’s a privilege to support their work."
Manfreight extends its thanks to everyone who contributed, helping to create moments of comfort, care, and joy for local families during challenging times.
