It was a night of celebration for Manfreight at the Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards 2025, where the company took home four major honours:
Chilled Operator of the Year (sponsored by Thermo King)
Road to Net Zero Champion (sponsored by Logistics UK)
Innovation Excellence Award (sponsored by Harris Maxus Group)
Driver of the Year – awarded to Manfreight driver, Andy Totten (sponsored by RSA NI)
Flagship Truck of the Year - 2nd Place Volvo FH16 780 Aero
The awards were presented during a glittering ceremony at the Crowne Plaza, South Belfast, attended by over 500 industry guests and hosted by the BBC’s Mark Simpson.
Organised by Export & Freight publisher 4SM (NI) Ltd, the awards are recognised as Ireland’s premier platform for recognising excellence in transport and logistics, celebrating innovation, resilience, and achievement across the sector.
Manfreight’s Chilled Operator of the Year award reflected the company’s commitment to industry-leading investment, including its fully electric refrigerated trailer, £14 million state-of-the-art chilled warehouse, AI-driven logistics systems, and world-class sustainability standards.
In the Innovation Excellence category, judges praised all finalists for originality and impact, but singled out Manfreight for the phenomenal benefits delivered by its real-time, AI-powered integration of logistics systems across its large fleet.
For the Road to Net Zero Champion award, judges – including Dr.Victoria Hands, Director of Sustainability at the Open University – commended Manfreight’s ambitious and data-led approach to decarbonisation. With real-time analysis across its 860-strong fleet and significant investment in people, systems, and infrastructure, the company is delivering measurable results in its journey to net zero.
The evening also celebrated individual excellence, with Manfreight’s Andy Totten named ‘Driver of the Year’. Judges highlighted his precision, control, and composure under pressure, noting his near-perfect performance with just a single driving fault and a record-breaking manoeuvring course time.
“These awards are a reflection of the hard work, innovation, and commitment of the entire Manfreight team. From investing in sustainable technologies and pioneering AI-driven systems, to recognising the skill of exceptional drivers like Andy, we are proud to be leading the way in transport and logistics. Winning across four categories is a significant milestone, and it inspires us to continue pushing boundaries and setting new standards for our industry.”
These achievements collectively highlight Manfreight’s position at the forefront of logistics – delivering excellence in operations, sustainability, innovation, and people.
